Since the explosion of the Covid19 pandemic, our news and media have obviously been totally dedicated to the coverage of issues connected to it. However today there are other problems that the world is seeing, and here we will briefly highlight some of them.

1. Lebanon: 100 days since Beirut’s port explosion

It has been 100 days since that evening of the 4^th of August in Beirut when the city experienced an explosion in the port. The explosion caused at least 220 victims and 7.000 wounded. Hospitals are unusable, the streets are destroyed, 200 thousand houses and buildings have been hit, 178 schools damaged. Life conditions create more and more concern, since the approaching of winter.

2. Cameroon: the attacks towards the educational system of the anglophone region

197 and 3. The first is the number of teachers and students kidnapped and the second is the number of attacks towards schools in the anglophone region of Cameroon, the same from which people have been taken, tortured, and some of them released for ransom. A lot have been registered from the 26^th of October and November. The violence against the educational system is growing, creating fear in the families, that do not know if their children will come back from school or not.

3. Democratic Republic of Congo: aids to women survivors of violence

Do you know what “fistula” is? It is a perineal laceration, which causes severe incontinence and discomfort, fearing the community living. One of its main causes is sexual violence. In the Democratic Republic of Congo rape is a war tool. In 2019, more than 300 women affected by fistula have been reported and healed. The number of violent cases is growing fast, reaching in September 667 rapes. It is important to raise awareness and help disadvantaged categories to have protection.

It is right to worry and focus on Covid19, but we must not ignore and forget everything else!
