The Braida Institute, a middle school in Verona, Italy, thanks to the support given by Volunteer In The World, carried out a volunteering project involving its students.

It consisted of a unique school trip of five days to Athens, Greece.

There, the students had the possibility to work as young volunteers at the Love and Serve Without Boundaries association, which welcomes in its structures the refugees’ sons and daughters, as a sort of unconventional school.

The Italian students helped the local volunteers by organizing group activities and games for the children, hearing their stories, and getting in touch with their difficulties.

This out-of-the-ordinary experience allowed them to deeply understand the true meaning of volunteering, opening their eyes to the harsh challenges that many children must face.
